RICHMOND, Va. – Tori Baldwin was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance during VCU's four match wins this past week. Baldwin received the Atlantic 10 Conference honor for Defensive Player of the Week. Along with that she was named the MVP of Virginia's Jefferson Cup.

Baldwin recorded 29 blocks last week, giving her 1.88 blocks per set. She currently ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in that department. Her .466 hitting percentage during that four match stretch bumped her to 27th in the nation.  

"I feel like I'm finally clicking with my setter, and finally clicking with the back row, and trusting everyone to know which ball to get and which ball I should take. I think everyone altogether is becoming more competitive."

Other sports you played in high school: I did basketball for two years.  I was a 6-foot-1 girl on JV. It was awful. 

Athlete you look up to: It's kind of a cliché, but Michael Jordan. Johnny Williams who was on basketball here, I really looked up to him. I think some stuff that he says and he goes through, it's really inspiring to see him play and show out.

Favorite memory from VCU Volleyball: They used to call me Poetic LT, because I used to be a rapper freshman year.

What would you like to do after you graduate: I want to do something with the FBI, but I'm thinking of playing pro first and then going in.
