RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University received standout performances from junior Jessica Ojukwu (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and sophomore libero Marisa Low (Carlsbad, Calif.) on the way to a 3-1 (25-22, 15-25, 25-12, 25-17) win over Albany Friday at the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.

The Rams (13-20), playing in their final match of the 2010 season, hit .278 and dug 77 balls on the way to an impressive victory over the America East Champion Great Danes.

Ojukwu, playing in her final contest as a Ram, blasted 13 kills and recorded 18 digs. She also hit .440, and was credited with just two hitting errors. In her last two matches, Ojukwu averaged 3.25 kills per set and 4.00 digs, while hitting .431.
While Ojukwu powered the offense, Low sparked VCU on the defensive end. Low provided 29 digs, an average of more than seven per set and was one of four Rams with double-digit digs.

VCU also received 10 kills from sophomore Kristin Boyd (Wilmington, N.C.), as well as eight kills and one block from senior Kelsie Clegg (Boise, Idaho). Sophomore Jasmine Waters (Landover, Md.) kicked in seven kills in 11 attempts as well as three blocks.
Casey Wright led all players with 15 kills for Albany, while Teresa Coppiellie provided 14 kills and 23 digs.
