The Short Story: VCU's Women's Track & Field team continued their 2019 Outdoor season with a strong showing at the Fred Harvey Invitational. Overall, the Rams had ten athletes place in the top-five of their respective events.

How It Happened (Day One)

  • Delaney Savedge placed second in the 3000m Run, recording a time of 11:09.30
  • Samantha Yankson finished third in the Hammer Throw after posting a 48.18m toss.
  • Ann Sheehy earned a third place finish in the 400m Hurdles, posting a time of 1:02.17.
  • Nichelle Scott posted a fourth place finish in the 800m Run, finishing with a time of 2:10.67.
  • Courtney Higgins placed fifth in the High Jump, recording a leap of 1.55m.

How It Happened (Day Two)

  • Camora Sander won the Discuss Throw, posting a toss of 48.65m. Her mark was over 6 meters further than the second place finisher. Denise O'Rourke placed third in the same event, recording a 41.19m toss.
  • Khoi Banks placed second in the Long Jump, recording a leap of 5.69m.
  • Ashley Greenlee earned a third place finish in the 800m Run, posting a time of 2:13.41. Ashley Brown finished fifth with a time of 2:15.21.

The Rams will be back in action on Friday, April 5, when they travel to Jacksonville, Fla. to compete in the UNF Invitational.
