VIRGINIA LOTTERY STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: MARCUS SANTOS-SILVA

 

RICHMOND, Va. – Men's Basketball junior forward Marcus Santos-Silva is enjoying his best season in a VCU uniform in 2019-20. The 6-foot-7 forward was named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week for the second time this season. For his efforts, Santos-Silva is our Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week.

Santos-Silva averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds as the Rams opened A-10 play with wins over Fordham and George Mason. The Taunton, Mass. native tied a career high with 26 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds in VCU's road win at Mason.

For the season, Santos-Silva is averaging a team-high 13.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 61 percent from the floor.
