RICHMOND, Va. – Mitchel Lacey was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week this week for his work at the plate in four VCU Baseball games last week.
Over the weekend, Lacey had six hits in 11 at-bats in a series against George Washington. The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania native had one RBI on the weekend and went 3-for-4 in both of Saturday's games. He also scored three runs and achieved a .625 on-base percentage. In the field, Lacey committed zero errors while playing first base.
The Rams went on to win the series 2-1, winning game two by a margin of 11-2 and game three by a margin of 10-2.
Lacey also produced a 1-for-3 performance last Wednesday, March 25 against then #18 Virginia.
The Rams return to the field today, April 4 to take on the Tribe of William and Mary. The Rams defeated William and Mary 12-5 in their meeting last year.
