RICHMOND, Va. – VCU junior hurler Blake Hauser has been named the Co-CAA Pitcher of the Week after posting a 1-0 record and picking up a pair of saves in VCU's 3-1 week.

The Midlothian, Va., native picked up his ninth save of the season in a midweek victory against VMI last Tuesday, with strikeouts in the 6-3 victory. Hauser earned the victory in Friday night's 4-3 victory over Georgia State, as he struck out the side in the inning. Hauser's best performance came in Sunday's 6-4 over the Panthers to close out the series, as Hauser pitched 2.1 innings and fanned five batters, to pick up his 10th save of the season.

For the week, Hauser pitched 4.1 innings, allowed just one hit, did not concede a run and struck out 11 batters.

VCU is scheduled to host University of Richmond, this Tuesday at The Diamond at 6 p.m. The Rams will look to even up the season series, after the Spiders posted a 7-1 victory back on March 21st.
